Encima Global was founded in June 2008 by David Malpass, former Chief Economist of Bear Stearns, to provide economic, political, and market insights to institutional investors and corporate clients. Encima means "on top of" in Spanish, expressing our goal to anticipate new investment themes and inflection points in the global economy.

Our research perspective is independent and differentiated, drawing on our team's long experience with financial markets and government policy making. David Malpass is a top-ranked Wall Street economist (#2 in Institutional Investor polls in '05, '06, and '07), who also brings to Encima Global extensive experience as a senior Treasury and State Department official. In Washington, David worked on major tax, trade and banking legislation, as well as federal budget and global economic analyses.

Encima Global also provides clients with the accounting research of Janet Pegg. Janet spent 25 years at Bear Stearns as a key member of the #1 ranked accounting research team on Wall Street. Janet's research examines the investment implications of changing accounting standards and tax policies.
